The breaks in classroom teaching caused by the pandemic, have had a significant impact on many student’s learning development. As schools and colleges start to return to ‘normality’, we know you’re faced with the prospect of understanding how individual students have been impacted by the interruption and determining how to ensure none of your students are left behind in their learning.

CEM, part of Cambridge University Press and Assessment, would like to offer support to all UK schools and colleges in addressing the impact of interrupted learning with their baseline assessment tools. And to get you started there is no charge for your first 5 students!

CEM’s baseline assessments enable you to quickly identify and address any strengths and weaknesses. You’ll also able to use the assessment to monitor student’s progress, create personalised learning programmes and identify your more able students.

Adaptive assessments

CEM’s baseline assessments are quick and engaging for your students. Questions are aimed at student’s individual cognitive ability levels and only take 50 minutes to complete, so can be sat in one lesson. The results included in the reports are granular, making it straightforward for you to identify exactly where each student is.

Supporting you through 2021-22

In addition to baseline assessments, CEM also can also help you with CAG/TAG Adjustment options in reports, support your second language learners make rapid progress with EAL guidance and help you understand how your school compares to others with their interactive School Comparison reports.

Baseline assessments with MidYIS, Yellis and Alis

The assessments

MidYIS (11-14), Yellis (14-16) and Alis (16-18) are computer-based, adaptive, personalised and tailored assessments. The tests are flexible allowing you to assess your students at any time of year, with classes, groups or individuals. No teacher marking is required and they can also be set up for your students to take in the classroom or at home, at a time that suits them.

No charge for your first 5 students

To help support your educational planning for 2021-22, there will be no charge to you for MidYIS (ages 11-14), Yellis (ages 14-16) and/or Alis (ages 16-18) for testing and reporting for your first 5 students. Reports will include predictions to GCSE (Yellis) and A Level (Alis).

This offer is only open to schools in the UK and those that are new to one or all of the CEM products until 31 July 2022
