Put GCSE Maths within reach

GCSE Maths for all

GCSE (9-1) Maths  - Supporting Foundation students

Our GCSE (9-1) Maths exam papers contain clear, concise statements with words that students find familiar. They also have a straightforward layout, which makes them easily accessible for students of all abilities.

Foundation students in particular can feel confident they will be tested on their maths, with questions presented in a clear and understandable way for them.

Why choose OCR GCSE (9-1) Maths?

Our specification makes it clear where to pitch the subject content:

  • Required content is clearly presented in a unique three-column grid structure, with content suitable for ‘initial learning’ set out first, ensuring you can establish the basics with your students.

Our well designed assessments allow your students to show their potential:

  • A simple assessment model – 3 × 1 hour 30 minutes papers for each tier.

  • Students get to use their calculator in the first paper they sit, helping them get off to a good start and gain confidence.

  • We have 100 marks per paper, giving us a greater scope for awarding more method marks within questions. Students are rewarded for each correct step on the way towards an answer.

What maths teachers say about our GCSE (9-1) Maths qualification:

The wording on the exam questions was clear – students didn’t have any difficulties.

The pre-requisites column has been invaluable, a real life-saver in terms of getting other cohorts ready.

The students came out positive from the exams and felt they were able to do well.

My Grade 1 and 2 students could access parts of the questions fairly easily

More of the middle ground did better than we expected, which is encouraging.
