Ceredig Cattanach-Chell
Part of the Computing Team since 2015
"I joined the Computing team in September 2015 incorporating my breadth of experience from education to support the reform and development of the new GCSE (9-1) Computer Science and Entry Level R354. A keen advocate of the challenges faced within the classroom, I led on the concept and delivery of teacher delivery packs, which have become one of the flagships for the new GCSE’s success with teachers. Prior to joining OCR, I had eight years of education and teaching experience across a wide range of schools, including primary, secondary, academies and SEN sectors.
I also hold a degree in Computer Science from Liverpool University and post grads from Liverpool Hope and Cambridge Universities. Outside of work, I’m a keen modeller/painter, gamer and all-around geek. From wildlife to war games, my varied hobbies ensure that I’m never just ‘sitting down watching the box’.
Vinay Thawait
Part of the Computing Team since 2014
"I joined OCR in July 2014 to support the GQ reform and development of the AS and A Level Computer Science qualification. Since then, I've been involved in the development of the reformed GCSE (9-1) Computer Science (J276 and J277) and Entry Level Computer Science (R354) qualifications. I have more than 20 years of education IT & Computer Science teaching and leadership experience across a wide range of schools, as well as local authorities’ subject advisor, Building School for the Future (BSF) Bid Lead for Capita IT and BSF services and the Head of Operation for an AV and Educational software development company. I also hold a degree, three post-graduate masters and NPQH from the Warwick, Coventry and Nottingham Universities."
Neil Hateley
Part of the Computing Team since 2020
"I joined OCR in January 2020, bringing a broad swathe of experience from the further education sector and industry. Prior to this I completed 17 years in both small and large further education establishments, delivering vocational and industry certified training programs. My previous employment experience included systems support for control systems, as well as electronic and electromechanical development engineering work.
I have a first degree in Applied Physics from Hull University, and post graduate qualifications in Business Computing from The University of Northampton.
Outside work, I'm a keen gardener and beekeeper. I also have a young family and various pets, most of which I end up looking after on behalf of my daughter. One day I might even get around to getting my motorbike out of the shed again"
Connor Toms

"Before joining OCR, I worked as a head of Computing in Cambridgeshire. Prior to teaching, I studied Computer Games Development at the University of Bedfordshire.
Outside of work, I'm a keen golfer, avid tech head and music enthusiast."
Debbie Williams
Part of the Computing Team since 2022
"I joined the Computing team in September 2022, bringing my knowledge as a teacher and subject leader for IT, Computing and Creative Media. I have over 20 years’ experience of education working in various settings including state schools, private specialist provision, local authority and exam boards.
Prior to teaching I worked in the manufacturing sector including the steel industry and car production. I am an advocate for learners and have a particular interest in ensuring that students achieve their potential whatever their starting point and challenges. I have a degree in Technology Management from the University of Humberside, a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam as well as a Masters in Action Research in Teaching and Learning from the University of Huddersfield.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, reading and watching films"
