Two smiling students

Hi everyone

We hope you’ve had a good week and you're looking forward to being able to hug family, friends and socialise indoors once again from Monday.

Whether you're completing assessments, marking or gathering evidence to decide student grades, or you were involved in submitting your centre policy to us, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work during this challenging period. We understand how busy you are and really appreciate your continued commitment and patience. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you need any support or advice - we're here to help.

Updates this week:

  • Ofqual has published a guide for students about awarding in summer 2021
  • a reminder you'll be able to begin submitting your teacher assessed grades via our Grade Submission System from Wednesday 26 May
  • our Grade Submission System training sessions are now fully booked, but we'll be sharing the videos and step-by-step guidance on our website soon
  • additional Cambridge Nationals Roadshows in June are now available to book
  • our Subject Advisors have written two blogs in support of Mental Health Awareness Week: breathing in nature and how to combat unhelpful thinking and negative thoughts.

Monday is World Baking Day, so why not indulge yourself with these yummy cake recipes, courtesy of our catering team.

Finally, whether you're spending this weekend unwinding indoors, or exploring the great outdoors, we hope you have a relaxing time. To everyone celebrating Eid al-Fitr, Eid Mubarak.

Best wishes

Ofqual's new student guide and summer 2021 guidance
Students in a lesson

Ofqual has published a guide for students on how GCSEs, A Levels and VTQs will be graded and awarded this summer. You may find it helpful to share with your students.

It also has details about the autumn 2021 exam series and lists sources of support and information for students.

You may also wish to share via your parent mail, our summer 2021 timeline and our guidance on determining student grades, and more about the evidence teachers may use to determine grades.

If you’ve already started to think about your options conversations this autumn, we’re running a series of subject roadshows this term for our redeveloped qualifications for first teaching in September 2022.

Due to popular demand, we’ve added additional dates in June.

During the roadshows, our Subject Advisors will give you an overview of the key changes to topic areas, the approach to terminal assessment and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
