Full CPD programme is now available
History Newsletter - CPD

Our full CPD programme for GCSE and A Level History is now available to view and book online. This includes full feedback from the June 2018 series as well as online Q&A drop in sessions with subject advisors.

We are also running a fantastic new CPD event on the French Revolution on 30 January 2019. This full day includes guest academic and heritage speakers as well as teaching and learning ideas and assessment feedback. It will be held at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.

Vikings Day for teachers of GCSE and A Level History
History Newsletter - Sea-stallion of Glenalough

30 November 2018, 11.00am - 4.00pm Department of ASNC, 9 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DP

Day’s workshop for teachers of A-level and GCSE History modules on the Vikings. Experts on Viking Age history, literature and language from the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic will introduce and answer questions on the latest research about a range of key topics relevant to Vikings history modules.

The British Empire 1857 - 1965 - History A-level event for staff and students
Monday 5th November 2018, 10.00am - 1.00pm

SOAS has created an online portal for teachers interested in OCR A Level Y320 ‘From Colonialism to Independence: The British Empire 1857-1965’.

To launch the website we are hosting a Year 12&13 History masterclass and a History Teacher CPD event.

HIstory Newsletter - The British Empire 1857-1965

Students will have the opportunity to engage in university-level teaching, while teachers will have the opportunity to speak to academic experts in the regions covered by the module, and explore the online portal to see the resources on offer.
