Our full CPD programme for GCSE and A Level History is now available to view and book online. This has been updated to reflect feedback from the June 2018 series, as well as online Q&A drop in sessions with subject advisors.

GCSE history networks

We are running GCSE History networks this autumn throughout the country. These are a fantastic opportunity at no cost to OCR teachers to share ideas and discuss best practice and will be hosted by the OCR subject advisor. All events run 4-6pm.

1920s resources from the National Archives
History - 1920s resources

The National Archives Education online team have today added to their resources with the publication of the new two part themed document collection called ‘1920s Britain: Decade of conflict, realignment and change?’.

1920s Britain is an option taught as part of the A Level history syllabus for key stage 5.

The National Archives are the UK government’s archive, and have a huge range of documents and original source material which bring to life the huge variety of post-war changes.

Complimentary Churchill day for Teachers

The Winston Churchill teacher training day comes at no cost for GCSE and A Level History teachers, taking place on Friday 12th October at Churchill College, Cambridge.

Thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund the Churchill’s Chartwell Project is able to offer 50 places on a first-come-first-served basis and includes refreshments and resources.

History - Foundation level GCSE History B

Our publishing partner Hodder is consulting on producing foundation level textbooks for some of the GCSE History B units. They would welcome your feedback on this proposal.

An online resource portal for Cold War in Asia (1945-1993) under preparation

Following the successful launch of an online resource portal with teaching materials for unit Y320 (British Empire) this summer. OCR is once again partnering with the History Department at SOAS, University of London to develop a new set of online teaching resources for A Level and AS Level teachers teaching Asian history.

This new module is for the “Cold War in Asia, 1945-1993”, unit Y222 in A Level (History A H505) and unit Y252 in AS Level (History A H105). Email your feedback on this proposal history@ocr.org.uk
