Ron Dearing UTC have produced thousands of face shields through collaborative effort and the goodwill of colleagues and partner companies.

The school, who teach our Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals in Engineering an Digital Media, started out by using their own materials and equipment to produce full face shields for their local council and local hospitals.

A number of designs were created on the school’s 3D printers, laser cutters and thermoforming machines.

They are now working with major manufacturing companies in Hull to produce huge numbers of PPE.

So far 11,000 face shields have been donated to a range of key workers in and around the local area. 1,000 face shields have also been provided to the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership who distribute them to a hub, so that even more key workers have access to PPE.

Congratulations to all those involved at Ron Dearing UTC for providing thousands in the local community with vital PPE.
