Hello Colleague,

Welcome back, we hope you had a fantastic summer and that this term is getting off to a great start for you. :) You’ll find plenty below to help you get started back. For a summary of the support that OCR offers you and your students, visit our ‘Welcome back’ webpage.

We’ll also be running online Teacher Network events later this term to further support you. We’ll review student performance in the summer 2023 series, give an overview of Teach Cambridge & upcoming resources, provide you with the chance to ask the questions that you need and more. Book your place now via our ‘Teacher Networks’ webpage.

For those of you planning to enter students in the November 2023 GCSE (9-1) Maths series, please be aware the entry deadline is Wednesday 4 October. The exam timetable for the series is available from our key dates and timetables webpage.

As you may be aware, we’re currently developing a Level 1 Maths qualification to help support students on their journey towards passing GCSE. We’d be very interested to hear your thoughts on the structure of the exams and how the content sections might appear in the exams. Our Level 1 Maths survey will take just a couple of minutes to respond to and we’d be very grateful if you’re able to complete it.

As ever, please get in touch if you have any queries or if we can give you any further support. Our role is to support you as you deliver our qualifications.

Two students looking at a booklet

Congratulations to all students who received results last month - we hope results days went smoothly for both you and them.

Grade boundaries are published here and the provisional exam statistics here.

If you or any of your students do have a concern about a result, there are a number of options available. Please see our post-results webpage for information. To help you, we’ve also published a downloadable pdf guide to the services available, plus a timeline of the key dates and deadlines.

Our ‘Summer 2023 support’ webpage is still online and is full of useful information, covering post-results services guidance, exams officer support, information about our free Active Results & Access to scripts services, links to support for your students and more.

Free access to scripts

Free access to scripts is now available to you. Please speak to your exams officer about downloading your students’ completed summer 2023 scripts free of charge. These scripts can then help you decide whether to request a review of marking, as well as supporting you and your department’s teaching and learning.

For more information and instructions for your exams officer, please see our ‘Access to scripts’ webpage. Please note the deadline for downloading scripts from the access to scripts service is Thursday 28 September.

As standard for access to scripts requests, please be aware that

  • written consent from candidates must be obtained after they have received their results before your exams officer can download their script,
  • your exams officer will only have access to scripts taken at your own centre.

Teach Cambridge - One stop for all your teaching needs

Question papers, mark schemes, examiners’ reports and GCSE (9-1) Maths analysis grids for the summer 2023 exams are exclusively available on Teach Cambridge, our single site for everything you need to teach our qualifications.

During the autumn term, you will start to see resources being removed from the public OCR website as Teach Cambridge becomes our hub for teacher support. We will provide exact dates for content removal from the public site later in the term, but meanwhile it’s worth familiarising yourself with Teach Cambridge. Our recent blog highlights some of the site’s key features.

If you still don’t have access to Teach Cambridge, you’ll need to ask your exams officer for help. Our guidance page shows them how they can get you set up.
