In this month's edition we relaunch our Migration Museum competition and provide you with some excellent upcoming events to support this. There's also a reminder about the new teacher guide for the Historical Environment section of GCSE History A and our summer Teacher Networks.

Tour of Spitalfields

We are pleased to announce on Thursday 11 July from 14:00 - 16:00 we are running a free afternoon walking tour of Spitalfields, the 2020 onwards site for the GCSE History A Migration unit.

All teachers are welcome to attend this walking tour which will be led by textbook author Martin Spafford. 

There will then be the option of continuing to the Migration Museum for light refreshments, a network event (see below), and an opportunity to hear more about the OCR / Migration Museum competition for students studying migration history at GCSE.

Join us for a network event for GCSE History teachers at the Migration Museum on Thursday 11 July from 16:15.

This will be a great event relaunching the competition, seeing the excellent exhibition and networking with our Subject Advisor and other teachers

We're delighted to announce we've teamed up with the Migration museum to relaunch 'Moving Stories', a competition for students studying migration topics at GCSE.

This competition will run until spring 2020 and complements the new GCSE, but is flexible, so that you can coordinate it as part of lessons, revision exercises, or as an extra-curricular activity.

Summer Teacher Networks

Join us for a free History Teacher Network this summer term.

These events will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to discuss your subject with our Subject Advisors and like-minded colleagues, share ideas and best practice and build supportive networks.
