Hello Colleague

We hope you're keeping dry and that term has gotten off to a great start for you. 😊

Congratulations to all students receiving results from the November 2025 GCSE (9-1) Maths series. Question papers, final mark schemes, examiners’ reports and analysis grids are all now published on Teach Cambridge. Please see the article below for links and more information.

Are you interested in marking with us next year? We're now recruiting summer 2026 examiners for AS / A Level Maths and AS / A Level Further Maths. It’s a great opportunity to develop your understanding of the qualification and the assessment process. Visit our assessor recruitment website and search for ‘mathematics’ to find out more and apply.

Steven has just published a new blog titled 'A Level Maths: examiner insight on vectors’, where he shares feedback from examiner’s reports to support students with the topic. Is there anything you’d like us to write a blog about? Let us know any suggestions via the contact methods below.

As always, if you have any queries or if we can give you any further support, please let us know. Our role is to support you as you deliver our qualifications.

GCSE (9-1) Maths - November 2025 series
Teacher working on a laptop

Congratulations and well done to all who received results from the November 2025 series.

Question papers, final mark schemes, analysis grids and examiners' reports are all now available to download from Teach Cambridge.

In December last year we published draft versions of the mark schemes for those of you using the papers as mock assessments and wishing to make an early start in marking them. If you did download the draft versions, please do make sure you download the final mark schemes now.

Please ensure that all of these materials are kept secure so that others can use the papers as mocks through the upcoming year.

Please see our website for November 2025 grade boundaries and provisional exam statistics, as well as post-results services if needed.

GCSE (9-1) Maths candidate exemplars - summer 2025

Candidate Exemplar resources from the summer 2025 GCSE (9-1) Maths exams are now published for each paper on Teach Cambridge. In the main menu, go to ‘Assessment’ and then ‘Candidate exemplars’ to find them.

Each resource includes a variety of candidate responses from the summer series alongside commentary from the examiners, leading you through a range of common misconceptions, clever methods and marking pointers.

They’re really useful to use either as a guide to student performance, or to have alongside you when marking candidate responses if you’ve used the papers as mocks.

Reformatted question papers for Core Maths
Teacher working with two students

Last autumn we shared some updates to our Core Maths question papers (if you didn’t see it, our subject update is still available to read).

To further support you with these updates, we’ve just published reformatted summer 2025 question papers and inserts on Teach Cambridge for Core Maths A and Core Maths B. In the main menu, go to ‘Assessment’ and then ‘Question papers and mark schemes’, any files labelled ‘new format from 2026’ are these updates versions.

These reformatted question papers demonstrate the updated style that will appear in Core Maths A & B exams from summer 2026 onwards (questions will be typed in Arial font and answer spaces will be dotted lines after each question part). They can be used to help prepare your current students for the summer 2026 exams.

Reformatted sample assessment materials are also available from Teach Cambridge now and reformatted summer 2024 question papers will be published soon.

The AMSP are running an online Core Maths Specification Network for our qualifications on Wednesday 11 February. Visit their website to find out more and book your place.

Supporting you with the Curriculum and Assessment Review

Following the publication last year of the Curriculum and Assessment Review (CAR) final report, we’ve put together a range of support to help keep you informed about the report’s proposals, the DfE’s responses and how these may impact maths qualifications.

Amy has written a blog ‘What does the Curriculum and Assessment Review mean for maths?’ that you can read now. In this she breaks down the key recommendations that directly affect maths and explores what these may mean for teachers and students in the classroom.

We’ll also be running an online CAR briefing focussing on maths, on Wednesday 4 February 4-4.45pm, so book your place now. During the session, we’ll share the recommendations and you'll be able to share your thoughts and questions.

Tiering for GCSE (9-1) Maths webinar

Are you currently considering tiering decisions for GCSE (9-1) Maths students? To help you, we’re running a webinar with our colleagues in Cambridge Insight all about how we can support your decision making.

Join us for ‘Right tier, brighter path: Using baseline assessments to unlock GCSE (9-1) Maths success’ on Tuesday, 27 January at 4pm to listen in and discover more.

We’ll demonstrate how the secondary baseline assessment can help you better understand your students’ abilities using prediction charts and chances graphs that can highlight where students are most likely to succeed and put them on the path to improvement. We’ll also go through the differences in the exam requirements between the two tiers and show you the range of support and resources available to help you.

If you’re unable to join us live, please register and you’ll be sent the recording and a certificate of attendance shortly after the webinar.
