Our ‘Supporting you with summer 2022’ pages contain plenty of helpful information for you ahead of the results days this month.

We’ve also published a blog about results days for exams officers, parts of which will also help you prepare and answer some of your questions.

Ofqual has published a podcast discussing marking and grading for summer 2022, along with a blog on ‘10 things to know about GCSE, AS and A level grades’.

Our short videos ‘Explaining examining - from exam to results day’ and ‘Students' questions about grade boundaries’ are available to watch, please do share them with your students.

If you or your students need further support with the series, please do get in touch (contact details are in the intro box above).

Summer 2022 question papers

Question papers from the summer 2022 series are all now published on OCR Interchange. Log in, select your qualification in the menus, then download the 'QPs (Jun22)' folder.

If you don't have a log in, speak to your exams officer. They will be able to either create a new account for you or to download the files on your behalf.

Please be aware that many centres will be using these papers for mocks in the coming year, so please keep them secure by not posting them anywhere publicly.

Mark schemes and examiners’ reports will be published on results day for the qualification.

FREE on-demand access to scripts pilot for summer 2022
Students sitting at their desks, working in the classroom

This summer we’ll be piloting a new free access to scripts service for several maths qualifications, in addition to our existing service.

This is the first step in providing free on-demand access to scripts for all qualifications.

From results day, your exams officer will be able to download your students’ completed summer 2022 question papers free of charge for GCSE (9-1) Maths, AS & A Level Maths and AS & A Level Further Maths. These scripts can then help you decide whether to request a review of marking, as well as supporting teaching and learning.

Step-by-step instructions for your exams officer are being provided in our results day communications to them. Access for exams officers will be through our single sign-on service, My Cambridge.

As is standard for access to scripts requests, please be aware that

  • written consent from candidates must be obtained after they have received their results before your exams officer can download their script,
  • your exams officer will only have access to scripts taken at your own centre.

AS & A Level Maths and Further Maths

For any of your students about to begin A Level Maths, Steven has updated his ‘Transition from GCSE to A Level Mathematics’ blog with new resources and ideas for you and them.

If you deliver AS or A Level Further Maths, we’ve recently revised our specifications with a couple of minor updates. Each are available from the qualification webpages.

In the Further Maths A documents we’ve corrected a couple of typos. In the Further Maths B documents we’ve removed the references to the now withdrawn AS Further Maths B options Mechanics b (Y415) and Statistics b (Y416).

If you’re preparing to or interested in delivering A Level Maths, then AMSP’s ‘New to teaching A level Mathematics’ summer school is returning to face-to-face sessions later this month.

Run in conjunction with the National STEM Learning Centre, the course is designed for teachers who have studied some maths beyond A Level standard, but have little or no experience of teaching A Level Maths.

The course runs over 4 days (Mon 22 - Thu 25 August) in York. Teachers employed in a state-maintained school or college in England will have the full course fee reimbursed on completion.
