Total Maths - July

Dear Colleague,

How are you? Well done and thank you for all your amazing work over the last few months in determining and submitting grades to us. We hope that the end of term is stress free for you and that you’re able to enjoy a relaxing summer break.

To ensure that we’re offering you the exact support you need, we would like to ask you some questions about the resources and support we offer for GCSE and A Level Maths. The short survey should only take around 5 minutes and will help us to keep delivering the qualification support that you need.

As ever, if there is any further support that OCR can provide for you then please do contact us anytime. Our role is to support you as you deliver our qualifications.

Logs blog

In his latest blog Steven looks at logarithms in A Level Maths. He discusses common mistakes and misconceptions seen by examiners, as well as sharing links to useful support for students.

The blog includes ideas for introducing the topic, which would also be useful for students studying our Level 3 FSMQ: Additional Maths.

AMSP Support

The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) has made available a series of support packages for centres and students that have lost teaching time recently.

This includes a free online course designed specially to support students who have studied A level Mathematics and are progressing to an undergraduate degree course this autumn (especially maths, engineering, or physics). Students working through the course will consolidate their skills and understanding, building their confidence with mathematics to help them make a successful transformation to university.
