Welcome back to the new term

Hi Colleague,

Have you had a great summer? We hope that you enjoyed a relaxing and fun rest. For those now returning to teaching, welcome back. You’ll find plenty to help you get started below.

For those of you planning to enter students in the November 2022 GCSE (9-1) Maths series

  • the entry deadline is Tuesday 4 October,
  • advance information for the series is now available. Advance information from summer 2022 exams remain online. Please double check the front cover of any advance information document before using it, to ensure you have the correct one for the series you need.

For summer 2023 exams, Ofqual have stated that they will ‘continue to monitor the path and impact of the pandemic and evaluate the delivery of arrangements this year, including the provision of exam aids, such as formulae sheets, and advance information to support students’ revision, before finalising 2023 arrangements’. We’ll let you know as soon as more is confirmed. As ever, keep an eye on @OCR_Maths for the latest announcements.

Please get in contact with us if you have any questions or need any further support. Our role is to support you as you deliver our qualifications.

FREE on-demand access to scripts pilot
A laptop

We’re now piloting a new free access to scripts service for several maths qualifications, in addition to our existing service. This is the first step in providing free on-demand access to scripts for all qualifications.

Your exams officer is now able to download your students’ completed summer 2022 question papers free of charge for GCSE (9-1) Maths, AS & A Level Maths and AS & A Level Further Maths.

These scripts can then help you decide whether to request a review of marking, as well as supporting teaching and learning.

As is standard for access to scripts requests, please be aware that

  • written consent from students must be obtained after they have received their results before your exams officer can download their script,
  • your exams officer will only have access to scripts taken at your own centre.

Step-by-step instructions for your exams officer are being provided in our results day communications to them. Access for exams officers will be through our single sign-on service, My Cambridge.
