Supporting you during coronavirus

Hi everyone

We hope you are keeping well and safe.

The submission window for submitting centre assessment grades and rank orders per unit for Cambridge Technicals closes next week on Friday 26 June!

When we’ve got all the centre assessment grades and rank orders on our system, we’ll be ready to move on to the next stage of ensuring grading standards across all schools are consistent. If you teach Vocational and Technical Qualifications, we’ve confirmed arrangements for more of our qualifications (read on below) and you might like to read a letter Ofqual sent to schools and colleges this week summarising the arrangements for awarding results this summer.

There’s also lots of interest in the autumn exam series and in summer 2021 exams and assessments. Jill Duffy, our CEO, spoke to the Sixth Form Colleges’ Association on Thursday about the challenges and we want to hear your thoughts. We know you want clarity on both and we're continuing to work closely with other exam boards, Ofqual and the DfE on the options. We expect to hear the outcome of Ofqual’s consultation on the autumn series and their proposals for summer 2021 exams and assessments before the end of June.

This week we share a story from St Albans High School for Girls who have been going the distance to raise money for their local community. When the lockdown hit, year 8 students, Emily and Isla swapped their normal netball sessions for a daily 1 hour run and have now raised over £2,000 by completing 100km - a brilliant achievement!

Our consultation in response to the call for developing a GCSE in Natural History has been well received - it's not too late to take part in our consultation.

As always, we’d like to thank you for your patience at this time.

Arrangements for other Vocational Qualifications this summer

During this challenging period, awarding bodies are following exceptional requirements set out by the regulators, Ofqual, CCEA and Qualifications Wales.

The aim is to enable as many students as possible to receive a result for assessments they had planned to take in spring/summer 2020.

Further update on VTQs

After discussions with the regulator, Ofqual, and other awarding organisations, we've now put in place arrangements for our other Vocational Qualifications (VTQs). Please read our update to find out more.
