Preparing for results

Hi everyone

We hope you're keeping well and are looking forward to the upcoming summer holidays, or already enjoying them if your school term has ended!

We're now in the phase where we'll be standardising grades so that your students get final results that are as fair as possible this summer. To help you understand how grades will be standardised we’ve created a simple infographic showing the process for Cambridge Nationals. We've also created one for GCSEs, AS and A Levels and other general qualifications showing the process developed by Ofqual. Guidance for Cambridge Technicals will be available next week.

The autumn exam series dates and entry deadlines have now been confirmed. This is an opportunity for students, such as private candidates, who were unable to receive a calculated grade this summer.

We'll continue to provide you with our weekly update over the summer holidays to make sure you have all the latest news and guidance in the run up to results day and the new term.

As always, we’d like to thank you for your patience at this time.

Teaching a diverse and inclusive history curriculum
Migration

Are UK history lessons inclusive enough so that everyone can see themselves in the story? Do they take into account the many legacies of the British Empire and colonialism?

Mike Goddard - History Subject Advisor - reflects on some of the key work currently going on by OCR and others in this area in his latest blog.

You can also listen to our latest podcast where history teachers, Clare Broomfield and Sitara Amin (who teach the migration topic on our History GCSEs); historian and co-lead of the Runnymede Trust's 'Our Migration Story', Sundeep Lidher; and Mike Goddard discuss the history curriculum and the teaching of migration, empire and colonialism in Britain's history lessons.
