Supporting you during coronavirus

Hi everyone

We hope you're all keeping well.

Our weekly round up includes the entry amendment dates for general and Cambridge National qualifications, information for submitting endorsement grades, updates on private candidates and some helpful documents for Heads of Centre, Heads of Department and Teachers which provide guidance for centre assessment grades.

We've been receiving some inspiring stories from our centres which we're looking forward to sharing with you. If you have any stories from your school or college supporting local communities or the NHS, we’d love to hear them and to share your news. To do this, please let us know by email.

We're also looking for teachers who might be interested in teaching a new GCSE in Natural History to support us develop the content. If you'd be interested please register your interest here.

As always, we’d like to thank you for your patience at this anxious time. We're continuing to work closely with other exam boards, Ofqual and the DfE so you can have clarity about every qualification.

Entry amendments
Entry amendment date

We wanted to provide you with more information about updating your GCSE, AS, A Level, Core Maths, FSMQ, EPQ and Cambridge Nationals entries to make sure everything is in place for you to receive your students’ results in August.

We'll be providing more information about Cambridge Technicals and other vocational qualifications separately.

We are also expecting to hear from Ofqual next Tuesday (5 May) about Year 10s (and lower) and getting grades this summer.

You can make changes to your entries from Monday 4 May until Friday 15 May 2020. In order to receive a grade for your candidates, they will need an entry. After 15 May, it will no longer be possible to make any changes to your entries and any candidates without an entry will not receive a result. Further information will follow early next week.

GCSE and AS/A Level centre assessment grades guidance

We've created some quick guidance documents for Heads of Centres, Heads of Departments and Teachers to support with the process for centre assessment grades.

The documents give guidance on roles, things to consider and possible sources of evidence.

Submitting endorsement grades
Submitting endorsement grades

If you teach GCSE English Language Spoken Language, A Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Geology, and you have a student grade for a completed endorsement, please submit that data via Interchange

We'd encourage you to submit your candidates’ grades as soon as you can and by the normal deadline of 15 May, if possible.

However, we appreciate this may be more challenging if you do not yet have these grades and so, in these cases, we will extend the deadline until the centre assessment grade deadline (to be confirmed).

We will be providing more guidance on calculating endorsement grades for teachers shortly but in the meantime please check out our FAQ page.
