Supporting you during coronavirus

Hi everyone

This week our round up includes a summary of today's Ofqual consultation outcomes, the new consultation on the autumn series, further information on our online grade submission system and an updated conflict of interest form for Heads of Centre.

The arrangements for issuing Cambridge Technicals results this summer have also now been confirmed. The submission window for submitting centre grades and rank orders per unit are 8 - 26 June. This is a week later than the General Qualifications and Cambridge Nationals submission window of 1 - 12 June

Tuesday 20 May was #ThankaTeacherDay - we’d like to say a big thank you to our teachers and school staff for continuing to inspire your students in school and at home through these challenging times. We'd also like to send a thank you to centres supporting their local communities and the NHS - you can read their stories on our Good News page.

As always, we’d like to thank you for your patience at this anxious time. We're continuing to work closely with other exam boards, Ofqual and the DfE so you can have clarity about every qualification.

Cambridge Technicals - awarding calculated results
Cambridge Technicals grades

We can now confirm the process for awarding calculated results for Cambridge Technicals Level 2 and Level 3 (2012 and 2016 suites).

You have from 8 June until 26 June 2020 to submit your centre assessment grades and rank order per unit.

To support you as you prepare to submit centre assessment grades and rank orders we've produced some guidance documents for teachers, Heads of Department and Heads of Centre. These guides provide information on how to decide the grade, what evidence to look at and how to place your students within a rank order.

Grade submission system

As part of the work to give students results this summer, we are asking centres to submit centre assessment grades and rank orders to us.

To enable you to do this we have developed a new online system - 'grade submission system'.

Grade submission system

In order to access the grade submission system, your Centre Administrator (usually your Exams Officer) and Head of Centre will receive an automated email by the end of today (22 May) from 'noreply-auth0@cambridgeassessment.org.uk’ asking them to click on a link and set a password.

The online system will be available from:

  • 22 May onwards – Access to the system. Centre Admins (usually your exams officer) will be able to add and remove users, update Head of Centre details - Exams Officers and Head of Centres will receive an automated email by end of 22 May asking them to click a link and set a password.
  • 1 – 12 June – Submit centre assessment grades and rank orders for general qualifications and Cambridge Nationals.
  • 8 – 26 June – Submit centre assessment grades and rank orders for Cambridge Technicals.

Our online live training for the grade submission system is proving popular. If you've been unable to book onto one of these sessions, a recording will be available on our grade submission page along with a ‘How to’ guide towards the end of next week.

Your stories

We're proud to share the stories of our teachers and school staff who are supporting their local communities and the NHS, as well as their students during these difficult times.

This week we share a lovely story from one of our Music centres. Mr Chakravarty, Director of Academic Music at Mill Hill, has been making music to raise money for the NHS.
