Supporting you this autumn term

Hi Colleague

We hope you've had a good week.

If you're submitting unit level teacher assessed grades for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals, please do so today via the Grade Submission System. To support you in submitting your grades, we've gathered together the answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Also in this week’s news:

  • a reminder about the changes to summer 2022 GCSE, AS and A Level exams and assessments
  • remember to book your place on our Cambridge Nationals Roadshows – last few places available
  • blogs published by our Subject Advisors to mark National Poetry Day, Black History Month and World Mental Health Day.

Finally, we sent a 2021/22 planning survey to exams officers yesterday asking whether your centre is teaching and planning to make entries for a specific selection of our qualifications this year. Your centre's feedback will allow us to make sure we're providing the right support for you.

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes

Today is the deadline for you to submit your Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals unit level teacher assessed grades via the Grade Submission System.

For details of how to submit your teacher assessed grades, please see our step-by-step guidance and FAQs.

Grade Submission System  FAQs

Your students are eligible for a unit level teacher assessed grade for any assessments which they would have planned to take in 2020/21 (doing the assessment by 31 August 2021). This includes units you planned to take before assessments were cancelled and units where you had originally planned to take but then decided to reduce the unit assessment.

Summer 2022 arrangements

Just to remind you the outcome of the joint DfE/Ofqual consultation on changes to the assessment of GCSEs, AS and A Levels exams in summer 2022 was published last week. We summarised the outcome in our news story.

Alongside changes to assessments covering adaptations and advance information, the announcements also included the approach to grading of exams and the timing of results days.

Mock exams in classroom

The announcements covered GCSE, AS and A Level. We confirmed our 2021/22 adaptations for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals last month. We can now also confirm that the same January 2022 assignment can be used in June 2022 for the Cambridge National Certificate in Information Technologies moderated unit (R013). Read more here.

Ofqual and DfE have also announced a short consultation on contingency plans in the event that exams do not go ahead next summer.  You can find out more about this and how to take part in the consultation in our policy article. Please send your response by 23:45 on Wednesday 13 October.

We’ve summarised the package of measures for summer 2022 exams in our latest Subject Information Update.
