V Levels in your curriculum – study programme examples

By 2030, Post-16 students are expected to follow one of two main Level 3 pathways: either a single T Level programme, or students can follow a mixed programme of study made up of A Levels, V Levels, or a combination of both.

As we move towards this point, there will be a period of transition during which schools and colleges will have greater flexibility to design programmes of study that best meet the needs of their students.

V Levels can be combined in any way with A Levels, Cambridge Advanced Nationals - Alternative Academic Qualifications, Cambridge Technicals, or other Level 3 qualifications as a part of a post-16 mixed study programme.

To support your early thinking about programme of study design we've created a Level 3 Post-16 Programme Builder.

Level 3 Post-16 Programme Builder

The aim of our Post-16 Programme Builder is not to provide a single “right answer”, but to help you explore what could work in your context, based on your students and your current offer. You can use the tool to test different models to see how these elements can come together - the focus is not just on reaching a total number of GLH, but on creating a coherent programme of study.

Below are some examples of mixed study programmes we can currently offer.
